wonky star from Making A Lather

My goal was to make the tiny tuesday block called wonky stars. Each block finishes at 4 inches, so the scraps do not have to be very big. I searched through my little scraps for pink star points.

Each star point block is sewn free form and can be wonky. That is a fun way to sew. - no pressure

I webbed the rows together in a 9 patch kind of way.

And set on the diagonal for the tiny tuesday sampler.

rainbow tiny tuesday from Making A Lather

Every Tuesday at the rainbow scrap challenge, Angela offers us a new tiny Tuesday block.
I need to spend time making those blocks that I missed. Every one I make, I fall in love with when it is done. I don't have a design wall, so I haven't seen them together yet. I am really looking forward seeing the colors play together.

Sewing Marathon from ... Cat Patches

It was all sewing, all the time yesterday...except for laundry. Laundry days make good sewing days, I've found. I can be completely decadent with my sewing time, all the while feeling as if I'm accomplishing something on the housework front. So let's just see what happened, shall we?

First...slow stitching. Always slow stitching, if I have my way about it. I've stitched up the left side of the latest Dancing Chickens and Flying Pigs block.

Now I've moved the hoop to the right side, and this one should be finished in a couple ...

A Tiny Bit of Sewing from ... Cat Patches

My Tiny Tuesday blocks are caught up for the month of September. Yesterday, I made the final two, starting with the Tiny Card Trick block.

It doesn't show up well in that image above, but the corner blocks are made from a very light lavender fabric scrap. This block was set diagonally.

Next was the Tiny Bright Hopes block. My fabrics are probably too busy for this block. That's a big "oh well" from me.

This block was straight set.

So that brings me up to date through the end of September. This being Saturday, I'm linking ...

Playing Catch-Up from ... Cat Patches

The morning was busy yesterday, and when I got home, I needed a nap. It often happens when I'm out running around. When I get home, I just want to lie on the couch and cover my head with a quilt. Sleep generally follows.

Breakfast with Erik and Mae was first on my list. It was a small celebration of his birthday on Wednesday. Along the way, I needed gasoline. After I left him, I stopped off at the liquor store...to be fair, it's something we needed before we left on our trip to Colorado. And after ...

rsc letters from Making A Lather

I had an evening with some quilting friends, and although they are very willing to help with my back limitations, I decided to just take scraps, book and rotary cutter. I needed to cut some letters.

I needed to go back and cut some red letters that I missed.

I cut the pieces for tiny tuesday monkey wrench

and hourglasses.
